About: Abbie Kohlman
Abbie Kohlman currently serves as the Program Support Specialist for the Pikes Peak Business and Education Alliance (PPBEA). I have 10 years of experience in a customer service and reporting role. My role with the PPBEA is to assist K-12 students throughout their career exploration process on the PPBEA MAKETPLACE website. In addition, I compile all PPBEA related reports and oversee many of our marketing and communications operations.
PPBEA is a public-private K-12 talent development partnership. PPBEA serves as a career-connected learning accelerator and intermediary - developing and managing relationships and interactions between El Paso and Teller County classrooms, students and host business representatives. PPBEA is starting its fourth year of operation in 2022 and is being increasingly mentioned locally and statewide as a best practice in career-connected learning by working its mission of “connecting students’ talents, interests & aptitudes to the world of work.”
About: Theresa Klinitski
Theresa Klinitski, Operations Manager and Education Coordinator with the Pikes Peak Business and Education Alliance (PPBEA). I was part of the PPBEA's initial launch team. I have over 20 years of experience in various aspects of education from teaching, advising, and consulting. My role with PPBEA is to train and support our education partners as they design personalized career-connected learning programs that will be integrated into their unique school structure. I am constantly on the lookout for new ideas to encourage our K-12 students to own their futures!
PPBEA's mission is to connect students' talents, interests, and aptitudes to the world of work. To achieve this mission, the PPBEA serves as a productive and organized career-connected learning and training intermediary, helping align the world of work with high school curriculum, career exploration activities, and student post-secondary decision-making. We focus on high demand industries in the Pikes Peak region that are in need of a community talent development solution. Our goal is to modernize high school student's career decision-making process and its relation to their post-secondary plans. We utilize the MARKETPLACE web tool to make the connections between business and education partners easy, sustainable, and scalable. Ultimately, we want everyone to love their job!
