Kevin McConnell is the director of PALS coordinates with schools, hiring and ongoing training of chess coaches and positioning PALS for new opportunities and growth.
 
Griffin McConnell is a National Master and a three-time Colorado State Chess Champion who has been teaching chess since he was 12. He has taught chess at The Challenge School, The Manning School and developed a chess club for children with disabilities at both The Havern School and Reach Charter School. In 2019, Griffin was invited to participate in the Confederation Cup for People with Disabilities in Ankara, Turkey.  He was the only player to win all of his matches and was awarded the Brilliancy Prize by the tournament organizers for playing the most brilliant game of the entire tournament, sacrificing his queen to win against Germany’s Jarno Scheffner (a higher ranked opponent). In 2021, Griffin launched ChessAbilities Inc., a non-profit entity dedicated to helping promote chess and chess opportunities for children with disabilities. In 2022, ChessAbilities hosted the 1st North American Chess Camp for children with disabilities.

Garrett Thiesen was homeschooled from the start. During his homeschool years, he was involved at his church. He also held several lead roles throughout his time acting in front of hundreds of people in fifteen separate plays! He has been active in his local Civil Air Patrol squadron which has grown his leadership capabilities. Civil Air Patrol also opened doors to travel and serve at the EAA Airshow in Wisconsin and learn at the Civic Leadership Academy in Washington D.C. He is looking forward to visiting Australia through the International Air Cadet Exchange this summer. Civil Air Patrol also equipped Garrett with knowledge which contributed to his interest in flying. Garrett graduated high school with dual credits and is looking forward to pursuing his career as a pilot by attending and graduating from the United Aviate Academy.

Colorado District 20 Representative Don Wilson serves on the education committee in Colorado. Outside of his current role as a state legislator, Don Wilson is an aeronautics instructor to middle school aged students for a STEM program throughout the state.
 
Since moving to Colorado as a kid, Representative Don Wilson has always been service oriented in the community, state, and country. As a teenager, he was a volunteer youth counselor and sports coach, followed by serving in the United States Marine Corps as a weapons specialist. Most recently Rep. Wilson served as Mayor of his home community of Monument.
 
Representative Wilson was elected to the Town of Monument Board of Trustees in 2016, and served as Mayor Pro-Tem until 2018, when he was elected Mayor. As the Mayor he took a strong interest in the way state policy was often harmful to the needs of smaller communities. He has served as a member of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, the I-25 GAP Coalition, the I-25 Steering Committee, Pikes Peak Regional Building Commissioner, and the Monument Economic Development Committee.
 
While serving as the Mayor of the Town of Monument, in 2019, Wilson C0-Sponsored the Referendum against The National Popular Vote (SB 19-042), with then Commissioner Pugliese. This effort was the first of its kind in over 80 years and was one of the largest citizen-led initiatives Colorado has ever seen. The effort spanned the entire state, engaging Coloradoans from every county, making Colorado the first and only state to allow its people to vote on the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

Renee Green is the Head Director and CEO of Valley Christian Academy (a Christian School) and Valley Academy (a homeschool enrichment program), Renee Green believes that "Kids are the most important people on this earth. Julie Blank is a native of Colorado and a homeschool mom. She graduated from Rampart High School and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Julie’s husband graduated from the Air Force Academy and after getting married, they traveled to several air force bases until he retired at Peterson Air Force Base. She and her husband of 31 years have four children. Julie has been homeschooling for 23 years in Colorado and Florida. She became a member of High Country Home Educators in 2002 and served in a variety of roles within that ministry. All of her children have been homeschooled from Kindergarten on. Two children are college graduates, one is currently in college, and the youngest is a homeschooled freshman in high school. While living in Florida for six years, Julie became the Administrator for a private umbrella school. Helping families navigate their homeschool journeys and planning for beyond the high school years has become a passion for her. For the last year, Julie has been serving as the Director of High Country Christian Academy, a private, non-public school for homeschooling students.

Thomas Russell is the Director of Cyber Education for the National Cybersecurity Center. The National Cybersecurity Center (NCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit for cyber innovation and awareness. Established in 2016 from the vision of United States Senator from Colorado John Hickenlooper, in coordination with several people from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and the community, the NCC serves both public and private organizations and individuals through leadership, education, and collaboration.

As a teacher and homeschool dad in the 1980s, Russ was among many who were concerned about families in Colorado who had to defend their efforts to homeschool in court. He joined arms with other homeschool pioneers who helped form the first homeschool organization in Colorado: the Colorado Home Educators’ Association, (CHEA). This organization advocated for homeschooling and helped establish the first homeschool laws in Colorado, allowing homeschool families to benefit from the many freedoms and rights we enjoy today. By sharing his personal experience, Russ demonstrates how homeschooling unites families, revives communities, and strengthens faith.

As a mom to a 22-year-old Aspergers son, Dana Beasley has a heart for special needs kids and teens.
In addition to teaching for over 30 years (and homeschooling since 2008), Dana is the program director of The Explorers Creativity LARPing Club in Colorado Springs. (Her son is now her assistant.) She also owns AngelArts: a Creative Arts Agency, Publishing House, and Enrichment Program. Dana authored several books: The Lost Art of Play, 31 Day Blessings Journey, and Your Guidebook to Growing a Family Economy. Caleb Price was born in a small town in Northern California and spent his teenage years touring in a rock band and eating cold pizza. Deciding it was time to move past splitting $60 between five dudes in a smelly van every day, he pursued filmmaking and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in film production from Brooks Institute in Southern California.
 
Producing and directing became a full time endeavor as he created music videos, commercials, and short films, before moving into feature length projects. His first feature film, “Connect” starring Kirk Cameron was broadcast in over 700 theaters and licensed by Netflix shortly after. Caleb then produced and directed a tv show called “One On One”, featuring multiple guests in a non-traditional environment discussing faith, family, and politics. “One On One” was picked up by Netflix in 2021. Caleb also produced and directed “The Homeschool Awakening” where you can join Kirk Cameron as he dives into the adventures of dynamic American families on a mission to put fun and faith back into learning.
 
Caleb has been producing and editing for over 15 years. As a husband, and homeschool parent to five kids, discipleship is very close to his heart and guides the types of shows that he produces. From development through post production, Caleb believes in working with strong teams to produce top tier content that uplifts, inspires, and encourages.
